This project was the remodel of mainly the lower floor of a 2 story residence in San Francisco. The design called for connecting the two floors together in a more seamless way and to better use the lower floor which was dark, unappealing and inefficiently laid out. The program called for a new master bedroom, master bathroom, walk-in closet, office and a family room. The residence also did not have a good connection to the backyard so we wanted to take advantage of the west facing yard and make it more usable for outdoor seating and eating as well as be a visually pleasing backdrop for the new remodeled lower floor to look out onto. The client also wanted a separate entrance for this floor from the front and wanted a more welcoming and finished garage.
